focused on the wrong things,
too much black paint,
too much time alone with my thoughts,
thinking about things that aren't real.
focused in the wrong way,
too long sitting in silence,
too long inside with the lights off,
listening to recordings of people who aren't alive
they tell me how to become what i want to be,
but i know they aren't real anymore,
but when i need company they are always here with me,
sharing what they know because that is all a ghost can do.
i need to remember that i am not a ghost yet,
that i can touch and taste,
that i am still in a world of the senses.
and it is in this world that i gather experience
so one day i can be one of them.
