i like this perspective on graffiti as vandalism. it's a more progressive outlook on the act of mark making and motivation at the origin of graffiti. since i moved out to melbourne there has been a drastic increase in the amount of graffiti i am exposed to on a daily basis. different than toronto there is a lot more visual space owned by vandalism than advertising. i find it not only refreshing, but in some way or another inspiring, not to involve myself in the act of graffiti, but rather in thinking about it in a cultural context.
