today while changing a kingpin i broke a guys truck on his original SMA Natas board! he wasn't mad that the 20 year old truck cracked so i gave him the kingpin.
old skateboard guys are funny. they aren't all gnarly but it's awesome how much skating meant to them.
he was bummed to see that almost all skateboards are out-sourced to mexico or china so we talked about skateboarding for a while. his 6 year old son seems pretty excited about skating. what a different way to encounter skateboarding, introduced by parent. when i was a kid it was baseball, that my father introduced me to. will skateboarding seem inherently less rebellious in the future? or does that even matter?
